After enough years on the tools, you notice the same thing happening over and over. Someone decides they are ready to paint. They want to know what it costs. And then they wait.
Three days for someone to return the call. A week to get a site visit booked. A few more days for the quote to land in an inbox, if it lands at all — two contractors go quiet and the third sends a single number with no explanation of what is in it. By the time there is anything to compare, the momentum is gone. People put it off. Exteriors miss the season entirely, because Calgary only gives you about five workable months.
None of that delay is doing the painting. It is all scheduling overhead, sitting between a homeowner who is ready and a crew that wants the work.
So we built a platform instead of another quote form
Coatly started because we wanted to remove the wait, not shorten it. Upload a photo of your room or the front of your house. Pick a colour and watch it land on your own walls, in your own light. For interior residential work, an estimate comes back while you are still on the page. Happy with it? Submit the project and our Calgary crew takes it from there.
A contact form promises a callback. This gives you the number. That is the whole difference, and it is the reason the company exists.
What did not change
The technology is the front door. Behind it is an ordinary, experienced painting crew doing the work the way it should be done — proper prep, premium low-VOC product, two coats, clean lines, and the site left tidy.

What we will not do
We will not call you five times after you ask for a number. We will not hand you a single lump sum with no scope attached. We will not treat an estimate as a contract — if something on site genuinely changes the work, you hear about it before we start, not on the invoice.
And we will not tell you that painting is the right answer when it is not. If your stucco needs repair before coating, or your cabinet boxes are past saving, that is what we will say.
