Drywall repair in Calgary — because paint does not hide a bad wall.
Nail pops, settling cracks, doorknob holes, tape lines and water damage. Fixed, feathered and texture-matched so the repair disappears under the finish coat.

How much does drywall repair cost in Calgary?
Why Calgary houses crack
Two reasons dominate here. The first is dry air: Calgary's low humidity, made drier by furnace season, shrinks framing lumber and pushes fasteners out. That is why nail pops appear in rows along a stud and reappear in the same places every few winters.
The second is settlement. Newer builds move for the first couple of years, and the movement shows at the weak points — corners of doorways and windows, and along ceiling tape lines. Fixing these is straightforward. Painting over them without fixing them means they are back by spring.
What a proper patch involves
A repair that disappears has to be feathered much wider than the damage itself. Cut out the failed material, back it if the hole needs support, tape the joint, then build compound in coats — each one wider than the last — and sand between them.
Texture is the part most people notice when it is wrong. Knockdown, orange peel and stipple all have to be matched and blended into the surrounding surface, then primed. Fresh compound absorbs paint completely differently to the wall around it, so unprimed patches flash through the topcoat as visible bright shapes.
- Nail pops reset, filled and finished
- Settlement cracks at door and window corners
- Doorknob, furniture and moving-day holes
- Failed or peeling tape lines on walls and ceilings
- Water damage — after the source has been dealt with
- Texture matching and priming so the repair vanishes
Questions people ask
Do you repair drywall without repainting?
We can, but be realistic about the result: a repaired patch will not colour-match aged paint, even from the same can, because the existing wall has faded. For an invisible finish the wall gets painted corner to corner. We will price both options.
Why do the same cracks keep coming back?
Because they are movement, not damage. Seasonal humidity swings and ongoing settlement reopen a rigid patch. Flexible tape and compound handle it; if a crack is wide, growing, or paired with a sticking door, that is a structural question worth a second opinion.
Can you fix water-damaged drywall?
Yes, once the leak itself is fixed and the cavity is genuinely dry. Patching over damp material traps moisture and invites mould. Significant water events should be dried and assessed properly before any repair goes in.
